Detailed product description required for purposes of contraventions C223 and C224 for the Canadian International Trade Tribunal finding dated July 16, 2003, as amended on June 8, 2007, and continued on July 15, 2008 for certain carbon steel pipe nipples and adaptor fittings, originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China.

INFORMATION REQUIRED ON CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS

Listed below is the information that must be provided to the CBSA regardless of whether the documentation is provided as paper or electronically (e.g., through the use of ACROSS). Failure to provide this information may result in the application of penalties to the importer, pursuant to the Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS).

The import documentation should clearly indicate the following:

  • name and address of producer/manufacturer
  • name and address of vendor (if different from producer)
  • customer's name and address
  • Canadian importer's name and address (If different from the customer)
  • full product description including:
    • – Harmonized System (HS) classification number
    • – Type (pipe nipple or adaptor fitting)
    • – Product number or code
    • – Indication if welded or seamless fitting
    • – Standard or specification (e.g. ASTM, UL, CSA etc…)
    • – Wall thickness (e.g. schedule 40, 80, 160, XS (extra strong), XXS (double    extra strong) etc.)
    • – Nominal diameter of the fitting
    • – Length
    • – Finish (black, galvanized, phosphated or other)
  • date of sale, date of shipment
  • quantity (and unit of measure)
  • unit selling price, total selling price
  • currency of settlement used (e.g., US$, CDN$, etc.)
  • terms and conditions of sale (e.g., FOB, CIF, etc.)
  • all costs, expenses, and charges incurred by the exporter and vendor in the shipment of the subject goods to Canada from the point of direct shipment (includes inland and ocean freight, insurance, etc.).
