Anti-dumping and Countervailing Program
Certain Carbon Steel and Stainless Steel Fasteners
Ottawa, September 10, 2004
On September 10, 2004, the President of the Canada Border Services Agency made a preliminary determination of dumping respecting certain carbon steel and stainless steel fasteners, originating in or exported from the Peoples' Republic of China and Chinese Taipei, and a preliminary determination of subsidizing respecting such product originating in or exported from the Peoples' Republic of China and Chinese Taipei, pursuant to subsection 38(1) of the Special Import Measures Act. Provisional duty, as outlined in the attachment, will now be payable on the subject goods that are released from customs on or after September 10, 2004.
A Statement of Reasons, which summarizes the information on which this decision was based and which describes future activities in this investigation, will be available within fifteen days on our Web site at http://www.cbsa.gc.ca/sima-lmsi/menu-eng.html
