Certain Copper Rod - Notice of Final Determination

Ottawa, February 26, 2007

On February 26, 2007, pursuant to paragraph 41(1)(a) of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA), the President of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made a final determination of dumping concerning certain copper rod originating in or exported from Brazil and the Russian Federation and also made a final determination of subsidizing concerning certain copper rod originating in or exported from Brazil.

A copy of the Statement of Reasons, providing more details regarding this decision, will be available on the CBSA’s web site at www.cbsa.gc.ca/sima within 15 days.

Provisional duty will continue to be imposed on imports of the subject goods until the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (Tribunal) concludes its inquiry regarding injury to Canadian production.

The Tribunal’s public hearings began in Ottawa on February 26, 2007. The Tribunal will make a decision by March 28, 2007.
