The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has initiated an investigation today under the Special Import Measures Act respecting the alleged injurious dumping of copper rod with a diameter of at least 6 mm but not exceeding 11 mm, made to American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) designation B 49 or equivalent, originating in or exported from Brazil and the Russian Federation and an investigation respecting the alleged subsidization of the same goods from Brazil. The investigation follows a complaint filed by Nexans Canada Inc. of Montréal-Est, Quebec.
The goods in question are usually classified under the following Harmonized System classification numbers:
